Roots Farmer Academy

Young people aged 14-18 years of age can attend the Roots Farmer Academy’s Hub space once a week where they learn how to grow their own vegetables. They will receive training in areas such as nutrition, soil health, planting seeds through to irrigation and harvesting.

In addition, participants will develop knowledge and skills in creating a food produce enterprise. They will learn about marketing, how to identify and engage customers, how to manage administration and finances, through to packing and delivery of veg boxes to their customers.

Participants will leave the three month programme feeling confident in being able to take these skills with them to create their own food growing set up at home, in a community setting or a commercial space.
